Most problems can be fixed by doing the following:

  3. Use a different web browser. (Google Chrome, FireFox, Internet Explorer)
  4. Restart/reboot your computer.

Clearing cache and cookies

Your cache or cookies can become corrupted causing all sorts of problems. Clearing them (deleting them) every so often to start fresh is highly recommended.

Each browser requires different but similar steps. Depending on the version of your browser the steps may change.

Clearing the cookies and cache for current web browsers:

  • Internet Explorer: Click on the Tools link or Gear Icon at the top, then Internet Options, then Delete Browsing History. Then click on Delete Temporary Internet files (cache) and click on Delete Cookies. Close all browser windows. Now you're done.
  • Firefox: Click on Tools links at the top, and then Clear Recent History. Click the Details arrow and make sure that Cookies and Cache are checked. For Time Range, select "Everything". Then click Clear Now and restart the web browser. Now you're done.
  • Google Chrome: Click the Wrench icon in the top-right and then click on Settings, then "Show Advanced Settings..." at the bottom, and then Clear Browsing Data. Select Cache and Cookies and then click clear. Then close all browser windows. Now you're done.
  • Opera: Click on Tools links at the top, and then Delete Private Data. Then press Delete. Close all browser windows. Now you're done.
  • Safari: Click on Edit at the top, and then Reset Safari and make sure that Cache and Cookies are checked. Close all browser windows. Now you're done.

If these steps are unclear or your browser version requires different steps, you can Google for information and illustrations on to clear cache and cookies in your web browser.

To make sure your computer is properly reset, we recomment that you restart your computer after clearing your cookies and cache.

When you return to CamFuze.com after your cookies and cache have been cleared, you will be logged out so you will have to login again.

Adobe Flash Player

Please make sure you have the latest version of Flash Player installed in order to view broadcasts.

Watching webcams and chat is currently only possible if you have Flash Player installed and available.

Devices that do not allow Flash Player (such as iPads) may not be able to view webcams or chat. We are working to make the webcam and chat fully mobile compatible in the near future. If you have a device such as a tablet or phone where flash is unavailabe, we recommend downloading the Puffin Brower app which has an inbuilt flash player that allows you to surf the internet with flash enabled.

Blank white video screen

If a white screen instead of the webcam video, it means the Flash Player is not receiving the feed from your webcam. Please try the following:

  • Please make sure you have the correct webcam source selected. Flash Player can detect many different things as a camera source so you need to specify which one is your active webcam.
  1. Right-click your mouse on the white screen (where your webcam picture should show) and click on "Settings".
  2. Click on the "webcam" icon to bring up that tab and makes sure that your webcam is selected as the proper camera source.
  • Close all other software that may be using your webcam, including applications like Yahoo, Skype, MSN and so on. If you are seeing your webcam feed in another window, that means your webcam is already being used by another application and will not work on CamFuze. If you want to use your webcam for multiple applications, you may try ManyCam software.
  • Make sure that your webcam is properly installed. This means that in addition to physically connecting your webcam to your computer you must also install the proper drivers to make it work. Usually these drivers came on the CD with your webcam, but otherwise you can Google your webcam type and download drivers for free online.

Webcams on Macs

You may need to right-click (or alternate-click, click the touchpad with two fingers) on the video to bring up the Flash Settings and then in the Webcam tab select a different webcam Flash source, such as 'USB Camera which seems to be the correct selection for Macbook Pro computers.

There is a bug in the new OSX Lion where the Flash Player Settings dialog pops up and you would normally click "Allow" but you are unable to do so. Here is how to fix it:

  1. Go to System Preferences on your Mac
  2. Go to Camera and Mic Settings By Site...
  3. Type in "camfuze.com", select Allow, and click Add.
